They Call Me Baby Killer

"Democrat baby killer" was the message attached to my truck while
parked at the grocery store. Someone had hand-written this on a
piece of note paper and stuck it in the driver side window where I
would be sure and see it. Nowhere on my vehicle does it say
anything about killing babies, killing innocent Iraqis, or even
abortion. There are anti-bush stickers and peace symbols.
There is also a Dennis Kucinich for President sticker, the candidate
that called for a Department of Peace. This happened after
spending the afternoon at a peace demonstration where a passerby had
told us that Iraqis don't care about life so it didn't matter that we
had taken the war to their country before the terrorists brought it to
ours.
This is the same war that has cost close to 1750 American soldiers
their lives and the lives of over 100,000 Iraqis, babies and all.
President Bush and those that support him are the terrorists and the
baby killers.
Bill Griffin
President Bush is a
racist.
"Our troops are fighting these terrorists in Iraq so you will not have
to face them here at home."
When he says this, he is saying the Iraqi people don't matter, their
worth is less than ours. This also shows that his stated reasons
for going to war, WMD and
imminent threat, were lies. He repeated this statement in his
last Saturday radio
address. This along with the Downing Street Memo show that
he lied to us about his reasons for going to war and the
timeline of when he had decided on war.
Bill Griffin
Two wrongs
don't make a right. You can't rob Peter to pay Paul, thats known as
a Ponzi Scheme. Perhaps killing to justify those already killed will
be known as the Blair-Bush Project.
It was obvious
before the war in Iraq started that President Bush and Vice-president
Cheney had made up their minds to go to war and remove Saddam Hussein
from power. UN weapons inspectors were smeared even before the
inspections had restarted in 2002. Bush still says as recently as
June 7th of this year that Saddam wouldn't let the inspectors in to
do their job, but it was Bush that forced the inspectors out so he
could start his war.
Now we have the
minutes of a meeting with Prime Minister Blair in Britain known as
the Downing Street Memo that spells out how the Bush administration
was manipulating intelligence. "The intelligence and facts were
being fixed around the policy" to go to war.
The weapons
inspectors were doing their jobs, the U.S. had bombed Iraq's weapons
sites for 10 years, the best satellite intelligence in the world was
being used to monitor Iraq and all of this pointed to no threat from
Saddam Hussein. Bush and Blair insisted though that Saddam posed a
grave threat to the U.S. and the rest of the world.
We have now
lost 1686 American lives and over 100,000 Iraqi lives due to the
"fixing of the facts and intelligence". Losing more lives
to justify lives already lost only deepens the sins already
committed.

Just Progress members, Red River Democracy, Oklahoma 4 Common Sense,
Tulsa Peace Fellowship, and friends from other Groups and Organizations:
It is a great privilege to be among friends and quality people that it
makes me believe in greater hope for our humanity. A humanity
that has seen, and continue so, much bigotry, and revulsion with an
action characterized by repulsion and reactionism. The world is
no longer a world that adheres to logics, principles, and kindness
toward fellow human beings. The world of today is more than ever,
“if your are not with us, you are against us.” The world of
today is no longer about substance, values with real meanings, rather
it is about empty slogans designed and created to deliberately confuse
the masses and steel their honor. The public at large and
specifically in America is in much needed effort for education
reflected by the moral, and the ethical stand of this group toward the
rights and the welfare of others regardless of their colors, ethnicity,
gender, sexual orientation, and beliefs.
I stress the importance of returning to the basic liberal moral values
that emanate from the human consciousness and never to veer away from
that tradition, social justice, the working Class, and care for
others. Love for your brother, as you love for yourself is a
liberal concept, because liberalism seeks to emancipate the human soul
from covetousness, cupidity, and materialism. We must know and
advocate that the government is a subject to the People welfare and not
to the corporate welfare. Societal welfare is our base and we
must be conservative on this issue meaning to protect this issue and
not to abandon this moral value. Also, we need not to desert our
liberalism of the heart, for it is our spirit and our mean in freeing
our minds and thoughts from dogmas and empty slogans geared only to
assimilate the masses and transform individuality to be a subject to
the supremacy of the individual. Plus, we need to be progressive
in our thoughts and not to be stagnate in our views of Justice for
Justice is an evolutionary concept grows as the society grows.
Remember, each generation sees the world from different prospective and
we need to learn from the new generation and not to impose our views
and values on them because the old represent the past and the new
generation represents the future and for us to grow we must seek to
live in their world. The heavier the tree the more it bends and
the stronger the arch bends, the higher the arrow yields. It is
the relation between the old generation and the young generation.
It is the relation between parents and their love ones.
Progressive means to enact on m It is the
relation between the If we do not act today heaven and the future
generations will curse us and our consciousness may for eternity never
see rest and peace.
Today, we need not to be locked into labels and titles. We need
to have real meaning and clear definitions of liberalism &
progressive and not to forget about the definition of conservatism.
My definition of conservatism is the adherence to logical values and
principle on the bases of equality to all members of the society and to
protect them at all cost. Liberalism is the freedom from
assimilation into an ideological belief then moves to assimilate
others. Liberty is the heart of Justice, and Justice is not the
definition of the majority in the absence of the minority, nor it is
the definition of the minority. Justice is the only defense
Liberty has for the majority as well as for minority. Progressive
means to advance the societal understanding of social justice for the
majority as well as the minority. Justice cannot claim
righteousness unless justice has addressed the need of the many as well
as the few, regardless of their numbers.
Yes, we are conservatives in our intellect and liberal in our hearts
and progressive in our thinking because we seek to grow into higher
consciousness, and always seek to explore higher understanding and
never stop to learn of others. Life is dynamic and because of
that we need to progress toward higher thinking in protecting Liberty
and social justice. Progressivism is the natural course of
liberalism to move the liberated individual toward higher understanding
of social justice. Justice as progressive liberalism goes is
evolutionary and dynamic to facilitate an environment of growth to the
individual and the society. Justice as the view of progressive
liberalism is not about punishment and fear rather about eliminating
the need for punishment. Progressive liberalism has no time or
physical barriers it is timeless yet it is bounded to knowledge and
higher existence.
The notion of individualism (the supremacy of the individual) presented
by the Commander in Chief “either with us of against us” was nothing
but a reflection of his misguided believe of being anointed by the
havens to the led the World to salvation and save the human race from
savagery. This is the new American cult at work and it is the
product of the Liberal Democracy hijacked by corruption. The
democracy of today has been hijacked by war mongering bloodthirsty
psychopaths in search of advocates and assimilation of others “if you
are not with us you are against us.”
The American cult of today is represented by 61 Million plus Americans
have abominated the word conservatism to make it mean death,
destruction, lies, deceit, manipulation, untruthfulness, wars,
corruption, imposture, and preparing America to be sold on the auction
block in the next five years. We need to reflect the true meaning
of these label conservatism & liberalism because; unfortunately the
America public associates itself with labels and not with substance.
As progressive liberals, we must live up to the altruistic nature of
liberalism that seeks not to assimilate rather to emancipate the
individual from the slavery of one self. Moreover, to allow the
individual to live in the spirited realm progressively so the
individual may reach higher consciousness and exploder other
understanding. As progressive liberalism goes this process of
growth is infinitesimal in nature and always changing toward a higher
dimension. To those who are looking for challenge in life and
require something to make them feel they are worthy of this existence,
this is one challenge worth taken.
From my belief of the world and the universe, I find the Creator to be
among the People and not inside a Mosque, church, Synagogue, or any
other worshiping place. The more I know of the People and the
creation the more I know of the Creator. It is rather important
to forge a solidarity between our individuality and the society for it
is the basis of our individual health; it is the means whereby social
ills are resisted and reforms are achieved.
We are progressive liberals in protecting the choices and the rights of
others for they are our choices and our rights. We are
progressive liberals in our thoughts and believe with no intimidation
to others. We are progressive liberals in our passionate care and
respect to others. We are progressive liberals in our belonging
to the human family and never are ideologues in our actions and
believe. In the eloquent words of Ali “if one is not your brother in
faith he is your like in humanity”, to love thy enemy is a liberal
concept and it is not a dogmatic view. We are progressive
liberals in liberating ourselves from steeling, abusing, and corrupting
other nations as well as the future generations of America. We
are progressive liberals in our adherence to the law “thou shall not
kill”. And yes, we are progressive liberals in protecting the
choices of others and provide individuality with much needed protection
for healthy growth so it may never turn to worshiping itself, it is a
profitable venture for the society as well as the individual. We
are progressive liberals in our protection to the environment for it is
our abode. We are liberals in our dialogues and not our debates,
for scoring points is self-indulgence. We are progressive liberal
in our fight against vices committed by individuals and corporate
alike. Once again in the eloquent words of Ali, “ who abandons
forbidding what is wrong theoretically and practically (and is
indifferent while seeing vices committed) is a moving Corpse amongst
the living”. Progressive liberals are not moving corpses, and we
are progressive liberals in our cry for Justice.
Conclusion; Progressive means to direct our liberal
hearts and minds toward higher grounds and elevate our understanding of
Social Justice and ways to protect our Liberties. We must give a
vibrant meaning to the words Liberty & Justice, so they may not be
just empty slogans to sway the society from addressing its social
ills. Progressive means to move the liberated individual away
from the superiority complex over the creation toward humility among
the creation.
I prithee to have a better understanding of one another and of our
communities and to learn to accept our differences, for acceptance is a
virtue that is higher than tolerance, and it is the first step toward
LOVE.

Iraq veteran speaks out against war Former Marine tells ND crowd his experience reshaped his perspective.
By PATRICK M. O'CONNELL Tribune Staff Writer Former U.S. Marine Sgt. Rob Sarra, a member of Iraq Veterans against the War, speaks to a capacity crowd at the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Hall Tuesday. Another speaker talks about Iraq. See Local. Tribune Photo/GENE KAISER

SOUTH BEND -- Rob Sarra is not a pacifist.
Sometimes, the former U.S. Marine sergeant regrettably believes war is a necessary evil.
"But when military power is used, it better be for a ... good reason," Sarra said. "And this was not it."
Sarra is talking about the U.S.-led war in Iraq, where in 2003 he experienced firsthand both the carnage and delicate side of war, scenes ranging from body parts strewn in the street to a little Iraqi girl persistently tugging on his jacket after he had dropped the flower she so desperately wanted him to have moments earlier.
"The smell, the sight, it's something you never forget," Sarra told a packed lecture hall Tuesday night at the University of Notre Dame. "If people want to support this war and think it's a good thing, they need to take a second look."
For Sarra, 32, one look was enough.
After he shot an innocent Iraqi woman because he thought the package she was hiding was an explosive, he "freaked out." He began to question the war and wondered why U.S. soldiers, his buddies, were getting killed in Iraq.
When he was assigned to head back in the fall of 2003, he said he couldn't do it and soon his nine-year career as a Marine was over. He was honorably discharged in April.
Sarra joined the group Iraq Veterans Against the War and has begun to talk -- more frequently during formal speaking engagements -- about why he believes the war was unnecessary while working to bring U.S. soldiers home as quickly as possible.
"Iraq was not an imminent threat to the United States," he said. "It was a lie. We were lied to. ... When you're over there, it's about the guy who's next to you. But when you come home and start thinking, it's a raw deal."
Sarra, a Chicagoan whose mother protested the war while he was marching to Baghdad, is quick to point out that it is possible to oppose the war and support the troops.
"I love them, but I hate the war," he said.
And his answer to a question from an audience member about why many soldiers in Iraq voted for Bush, showing support for the administration's Iraq policy was simple: They need something to believe in.
"No one wants to come home and hear people say, 'Well, that was for nothing,'" he said.
For South Bend resident Steve Nani, it was interesting to hear a Marine's perspective.
"I appreciated what he had to say about the war being a firsthand participant," Nani said. "It affirmed all of the things I believe, that it was a dishonest war that we got into."
Sarra will continue to speak out against the war in an effort to bring the soldiers, including those who served along side him, back home.
"As long as we're there," Sarra said, "we're part of the problem."

Post-election,
More-work-than-ever Edition
With the
re-election of the
Shrub we will have more work
than ever. He thinks he has capital to spend as he puts it. We know
he means to do whatever he damn well pleases. (Or whatever Rove and
Cheney damn well please.)
As I write this, Alawi, the
administration's puppet in Iraq, has
ordered the US marines to attack Fallujah. Your guess is as good as
mine why the supposed head of the Iraqi government is giving
orders to the US marines, but that is how they wish to characterize
it. Maybe it is to lay the blame elsewhere when it all blows up in
our faces. This could be the worse battle yet for the US troops.
Estimates now state that 100,000 Iraqis
have died as a result of
this illegal war, this according to the Johns
Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. The
toll attributed to the resident and re-elected war criminal just
continues to grow.
Red, White, and Blue All
Over
by Monica A. Griffin
It seems that no matter where I go anymore I see the symbol of America,
Old Glory, flying everywhere. It's not the just the usual displays that
cause me concern: on an occasional front porch, in front of a school,
library, firehouse, courthouse, or business. I'm talking about the flag
on the little white plastic pole flapping in the breeze on a car
window, the larger than usual bumper sticker or decal, the huge
full-sized flag waving furiously in the the bed of a pickup trucks. Its
making more appearances these days than the ubiquitous blue plastic
Wal-Mart sack.
What does this flag waving furor mean? That someone is actually proud
of what this nation currently stands for ala the Bush Administration
and the PNAC rat pack staggers belief. This once proud banner of a
country built on the tenets of freedom from repression now provokes
strong emotions I have never before felt about the nation of my birth.
It's with great shame that I witness these extraordinary efforts at
nationalism, not patriotism. For me, these colors have come to
represent things our founding fathers surely never envisioned:
Red:
Embarrassment and anger that this mighty nation has pre-emptively
attacked another sovereign nation on threads of evidence, many of which
were proven beforehand to be false, driving further into the dust a
country that could barely defend itself (let alone pose an imminent
threat) and a people already devastated by the heavy hand of a paranoid
tyrant.
The blood of the all the innocent in this conflict spilled for a lie.
White:
Shock and dismay that so many innocent lives, both American and Iraqi,
were thrown away in the efforts to depose a single ruler whose crimes,
while heinous, were overlooked (and even supported) only decades ago by
many of the same leaders of this administration; a single man that
represents only one example of the horrible repression being suffered
at the hands of such oppressors around the globe, some of which this
nation calls "allies."
The knuckles of power that decimate our liberties while continuing to
feed its horror-stricken populace a constant diet of fear to win
control of its heart and mind and even approval for its blood-thirsty
policies.
Blue:
Sadness and angst over the imperialist image our traditional allies
have had no choice to paint of America as they were locked out; the
voices of the world community calling for diplomacy and a peaceful
solution falling on deaf ears.
Disappointment that a nation that fought to free the world of Fascist
and Nazi rulers in concert with its partners now sees itself the only
fit judge of the value of a society and it's population.
I am appalled that as a citizen of this nation I have been made
complicit to the crimes of this administration: the use of overwhelming
military force where it isn't warranted, the deception on which this
murderous raid was based, the callous disregard for the lives of its
own brave troops and the innocent citizens of the world; the failure to
observe international treaties. I am disheartened at a citizenry that
fails to question the wisdom of its leadership while trying to squelch
the voice of reasoned dissent with the incessant and bellicose rantings
of corporate radio personalities. I'm amazed that these self same
fellow citizens fail to see the problem with a statement like "Don't
you forget that our troops risk their lives and die so you can express
your opinions!" Well, duh! Wouldn't that mean that allowing you to
silence my dissent makes their sacrifice a vain one? And for God's
sake, calling for peace and supporting our troops are NOT mutually
exclusive concepts.
Speaking of God, as a Christian I am stunned by the lack of discernment
practiced by the leaders and membership of any church that would
predicate the dissemination of aid to a suffering nation upon the
condition that it come wrapped in Bible verses when many of these
people already view the acts of this government as another crusade
against Islam. (Talk about walking up to an angry bear and smacking it
with a switch!) To them I point out Christ's response to his followers
when asked which is the greatest of all the commandments: "To love your
God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Second only to this is to love
your neighbor as yourself." Period. Did you get that period? He doesn't
go on to say "only if he loves you, looks like you, believes as you do,
lives in the same country as you." The Greek word in this text is
"agape": unconditional and all-encompassing. He also says, "I stand at
the door and knock, whosoever answers to me, I will come into him...",
not "I'm here to break down the door and shove my doctrine down your
throats whether you like it or not." What would Jesus do? You make the
call.
Don't get me wrong...I'm proud to be an American. The kind of American
that stands for freedom of all peoples of the world from poverty,
disease, religious persecution, and genocide. The kind of American that
still wants to extend the hand of friendship, the right of
self-determination, and the hope of a sustainable existence to the rest
of the world...not the fist of red, white, and blue domination. I'm
also proud of the kind of American like my father who instilled in me
the respect for what this country has fought for and who, after many
knock-down, drag-out debates with me over Vietnam many years ago,
finally sees the difference.

By Loay M. Suffer
In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Greeting of peace by the name of The Peace. As the word peace is one of the many attributes of the All Mighty God.
I was born in the Biblical city of Babylon, the home to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the most progressive civil codes in humanity, before any of the Biblical writing. From that ancient culture I have come to know that time is just an elusion.
The pinnacle of those codes were to draw equality and fairness among those who hold the ideals of free enterprises and the workers and craftsmen who are the engines of the society and the builders of the cities. Humanity in old Mesopotamia not only sought to protect and to compensate the weak but also, to ensure that the rich and the powerful equally exist and the kings were equally subject to the law.
Humanity came to know these facts since the early stages of its developments that justice and liberty are the foundation for a civil society and the application of the laws upon rich and the poor alike are paramount for the human family to exist. The first human family came to know those laws are not absolute rather they are dynamic and progressive. Also, they came to know that life is about growth, and without growth life ceases to exist. To Americans, the term "Liberalism" is often linked to immoral values, versus "Conservatism" which is often linked to moral values.
As a practicing Muslim, I came to know that liberalism is the heart of our souls. It is a virtue that invigorates and entices new thoughts and ideas. Whereas, conservatism "supposedly" is the adherence to science and logical principles and values. Thus, by the application of science, liberalism is the spirit of conservatism.
Today we find that liberalism being trampled upon in the name of conservatism. The result has been the deprivation of the American society of progress under the guise of justice. America today is groups of ideologues locked into their own ideas.
"Conservatism" is no longer about the adherence to scientific and logical principles rather is the adherence to something that must be supported with disregard to justice, which has lead to stagnation, regression, and backwardness. We are the leaders in the world toward fascism, and let us not forget that Hitler did not do it alone!
Favorite and often repeated response to logical enquiry:
"If you do not like the war, go to IRAQ, America love it or leave it."
America has lost its sentiments and the ability to distinguish right from wrong. The truth has become the liberal lies and the lies has become the truthful word of the man of God with his armies of mercy being unleashed unto Iraq.
The appointed leader's concern is to win the election, as for the crimes committed in the name of America in Iraq are irrelevant. The latest in series of lies and deception came Friday the 15th in the of an announcement to freeze Al-Zarqawi assets. The demon before was Saddam. Then Muqtada Asader, and now we have Zarqawi. Just recently, a CIA operative in Iraq started to leak the news that Al Zerqawi is a fictitious character and he was concocted by special CIA units on the grounds in cooperation with ex intelligence Iraqi operatives. Instead of keeping quiet, the lie became bigger so people can believe the story by freezing his assets. It is another instalment in the on going saga of Weapon of Mass Deception!!!
The re-building of Iraq is another joke being pulled on American people. Fifteen month into the CPA under the stewardship of the overseer Paul Bremer. Twenty Two Billion dollars of Iraqi U.N. trust fund were seized by the CPA, of which only $900 million could be accounted for. This is the liberty America brought to Iraq with 70,000 Iraqi have died since the occupation began under discredited cause belie.
Support our troops?
Mr. Carson; America is suffering from a real moral and spiritual problem. The current Commander in Chief is at the symptom. In the name of the All Mighty the orders of Abu Ghraib prison scandal were made to his pleasure. Unless America wakes up, we are writing our moral and spiritual obituary deeper.
America has broken an international law by invading a sovereign country that posed no threat to the United State of America. Seventy plus percent of Americans have drenched their hands in blood by their support of the war. It was nothing but a reflection of the sad character that America has succumb to. A case in point our Senator from Tulsa was outraged at the outrage of Abu Ghraib.
In the words of Imam Ali bin Talib "He who abandons forbidding what is wrong theoretically and practically (and is indifferent while seeing vices committed) is a moving Corpse amongst the living".
America has lost the war in Iraq. The commander in chief must acknowledge that and deliver a formal apology to America, the world and especially to the Iraqi people. Iraq has suffered for more than a century, and must be compensate for all the damages and the death caused by the recent U.S. invasion. Two million dollars is the current figure for wrongful death concerning Americans. Last I have read "All men are created equal".
Justice is an evolutionary, dynamic, and progressive set of values and beliefs to secure human's rights and progression toward higher state of conscience with Liberty being in the heart of Justice.
Senotor Inhof, nor Sullivan, Coburn can ever answer the WMD question. They still think that Iraq has the WMD because of their lack of independent thinking. America has lost its ability to discern the information being feed by the media. As Britney Spears once said "We must trust the President, the President knows best". If this is not fascism, I do not know what is. Today, Afghanistan remain the single largest exporter of heroin to the world and is under US Command.
Mr. Carson:
We are turning into an extortionist State, threatening others around the world, we are becoming less credible day by day. Every one is starting to see that the time is over for America and the ship is sinking. Many thanks to the American Enterprise Institute and the Counsel of Foreign Relation, and many others for their disservice to America. Heavens, who dare to speak of their affiliation. The one hundred year old crime committed by the west lingers on to this day against Palestinians for reasons beyond any ones control, because it was the "Queen's wishes ...". Read the banned book from publication in the U.S. "A History of Modern Palestine" by Ilan Pappe.
The Greater Middle East Initiative was portrayed in the media as the greatest thing ever to come from a world leader. Every cheered it as the best thing ever to happen to the Middle East that will insuring an ever lasting peace. It is politically incorrect to dare to publicly suggest that such an adventure was Shamon Preze brain child for he was the one who set the blue print of the current situation in the Middle East. It is folly that U.S. foreign policy being decided by the Lekudniks in Washington and Tel Aviv.
Mr. Carson:
Our quality of life is diminishing, our national debt is at record high of $7.4 trillion, with no national health care system, budget deficit of $415 billion, and the near term projected war cost for the in Iraq is $200 billion alone. Our welfare system is failing. The cleverness of Karl Rove is out smarting every one with empty slogans like "Sky Clear Initiative", "No Child left behind", and "Faith Based Initiative".
Why is the cost of health insurance rising? As the insurance companies, and pharmaceuticals make obscene profits from the society then they must contribute back to the society. The current flue vaccine scandal illustrate the relevant crises. The same argument could be made for doctors and lawyers.
We are so busy asking God to bless America, and today I ask God to save our souls and save our humanity.
May God be your guide.

we took the swat team and our

our way into the trailer park, guns blazing.
A few of the local residents came out to see what was

have any friends hanging around.
Saddam had violated the terms of his probation and he was going

cause we couldn't find saddam at first, but after turning over and
burning down enough of the homes, we came up with him, hiding with
the bugs and spiders.
Yeah, we lost a few of the locals, but if you hang with criminals
